Hotel Monteleone Now Accepting Reservations!

The rate of $119 is for a double occupancy room if booked prior to April 1st (king or double bed upon request and availability), $25 per person added after two. $119 up to two people, $144 for 3 and $189 for four. Applicable city and state taxes are 13% plus two dollars per room, per night occupancy tax.

After Apr. 1st, $149 for two, $174 for 3 and $199 for four people, same taxes. Block will be held till Oct. 1st. Call (504) 523-3342 for reservations, group reservations is 1-800-217-2033. Guests may reserve by fax (504) 528-1019. Reservations must be guaranteed by one night's deposit or a major credit card. Individual guest room deposits will be refunded if reservations are canceled 72 hours prior to the date of arrival. Please identify yourselves as UNDEAD CON to ensure they receive the group rate and the group receives the proper credited pick up.

Check in is 3pm, check out is 12 noon. Valet parking is available for $30 for regular size and $32 for oversize per day, per vehicle, as space permits. Parking is not guaranteed.

Plans for the 2010 Memnoch Ball are rolling right along. This year's Halloween Extravaganza promises to be a huge event! Year after year our core group of event planners, promoters, supporters, organizers, donors, cohorts, and volunteer staff gather both online and in person to bring you the best party possible and this year is far from the exception. We are currently looking at bands and guests and narrowing down our lists to provide you with a fabulous experience. Any suggestions for great musical acts are actively encouraged. We are always looking for what YOU want in YOUR Coven Ball! The spirit of Memnoch is alive and well and we look forward to bringing you a Devil of a Time.

Miss Gabrielle Faust (of the Eternal Vigilance series) will be joining us once again as one of our guest authors and keeper of the faith. We cannot thank Gabrielle enough for all that she does for the event and the fan club. She is truly our champion! Thank you, Gabrielle, for your "Eternal Vigilance" and support!

Thanks go out again to Anne Rice for her continued support and encouragement. Without you, Anne, it wouldn't be the same. Details on next year's grand Coven Ball will be made available over the next few months. We can tell you now though, before it hits the interwebs in documentary form, that the theme for next year is RESURRECTION. Specifically, MEMNOCH. The only time that MEMNOCH has been recognized was at the 1995 Coven Ball hosted by Anne at St. Elizabeth's. It is our hope to rekindle the spirit of that devil as we knew and loved it back then!

For those of you who were lucky enough to attend the legendary Memnoch Ball in 1995 we encourage you to wear a variation of the same costume you wore then. For those who were not able to attend the first time we encourage you to come dressed in the costume you always wanted to wear to it!

In closing, we would like to thank all of you so much for coming out to TRU BLOOD & GOLD! The party sold out and it was awesome! Thank you to Miss Charlaine Harris and Miss Gabrielle Faust for joining us for all the fun!

The main room of the House of Blues will open at 10pm for general admission and VIPs however VIPs get a private entrance and the Balcony and Parish (VIP room until 1am). Afterward, the VIPs have an exclusive balcony space until close.

Well, we have reached the point of no return for Halloween Weekend! Yesterday was the cutoff date for all mailings on tickets purchased for the Tru Blood and Gold Ball. All tickets purchased from here on out must be picked up at Will Call at REPUBLIC NEW ORLEANS starting at 8 p.m. on the NIGHT OF THE BALL. We will have volunteers working who will help you to the Will Call table for ticket pick up. Your Paypal receipt and legal ID will be required.

Important message about costumes with Fur

Okay, this year's Tru Blood & Gold Ball is really bringing out some retro style inspired by characters and flashback sequences on the show True Blood and there has been some discussion and concerns about patrons wearing real fur coats and wraps and or pelts for costume authenticity.

People may wear real fur. This is a personal choice and should be respected as such. NO vandalism, destruction or political, moral or negative comments to or about persons wearing fur will be tolerated. People breaking these rules may be asked to leave or removed if necessary. If you don't have anything nice to say, please keep your opinions to yourself. Wearing fur was a huge evening affair back in the 30's and 40's and in the interest of period authenticity, patrons may be taking the opportunity to pull out their vintage and estate pieces and should not have to fear public scrutiny or damage to expensive family and historical heirlooms. Please be respectful to one another and their costume choices. Thank you.

We bring you now a little update on ticket sales and shipping for ‘Tru Blood and Gold’. Member ticket sales have been very good, with many new members planning their public debut this year! New Blood is the Truest Blood of All. So, when you see a new face at the Ball this year please take a moment to greet and welcome them. We have noticed also that many of our newest members are bringing fledgling friends with them, welcome them as well. The more the merrier! Tickets for the public will be released after August 31st and we recommend that you snatch them up if you plan to bring your costumed entourage to the most anticipated literary event of the Halloween Season! As a reminder, public tickets will be sold for the full face value of $35.oo. Members who have not purchased tickets yet may do so and receive their initial discount until tickets are sold out. Get your tickets soon, we don’t advise waiting.

The first wave of tickets that are eligible for shipping will be mailing soon so please be looking for your postal carrier at your door. All tickets that were eligible for shipping within the United States will require signature as proof of delivery. The Vampiric Art of Chad Savage

Dark artist Chad Savage, who has been providing artwork to the vampire subculture since the 1980's, has opened his own Etsy.com shop, where he will be selling original vampiric artwork that he's created over the last 20 years. Many of these one of a kind drawings were used on magazines, book covers and as book illustrations over the last two decades.
