THE GROUP RATE DAYS ARE:
Thursday, October 30th
Friday, October 31st
Saturday, November 1st

CHECKOUT being SUNDAY! Most people work on Monday and have to be back Sunday, so there is your reason.

Check-in is 3pm Thursday and check-out is 11am Sunday. Just so there is no confusion. Standard hotel rates may apply all other days if you extend your stay before or after these dates.

Greetings little Cherubs and Ghouls,

This is Lestat wishing a good evening to you and yours. It’s that time of year again when I must acquiesce to the demands of my immortal nature and send forth the word for new blood to support the Coven and get those memberships rolling in. (Renewals for you non-fledglings…) It has been a good first year of the fan club’s resurrection and we have many things that we want to move forward on and we need your support to keep things going. I can’t do all of this by myself, despite my nature to want you to believe that to be so. It worked with Louis and Claudia...well, it "kind of" worked with Claudia...but I digress.

The ARVLFC requires two things to keep going and those are the countless hours of hard work throughout the year put in by our staff of minions...I mean volunteers, and the financial support of our Coven members. Memberships help to provide for the Vampire Balls in New Orleans every Halloween and are a crucial element to making those events grow and evolve. Members take pride in knowing that they help to make these celebrations come to be! They also get steep discounts on tickets. To sweeten things up a bit for this year’s new memberships and renewals I am going to hold a drawing for an unsigned Stan Rice print. This drawing will be available to those members completing a new membership or a renewal by the end of May. The drawing will be held after that deadline and the winner announced on the website and the MySpace sister pages.

So, please do warm my reckless, careless heart and show me the love I crave as your eternal "Brat Prince" by submitting to strengthening the blood as a member of our little Coven. To renew or join as a new member just go to MEMBERSHIPS and follow the directions to sign up. We are adding some new buttons/pins to the selection so you may get one of the new series in your packet, especially if you are renewing!

Well, I have done my bit for now and I haven’t fed enough. Lower Decatur beckons and the hour grows late. Armand is passing through New Orleans with Marius and Daniel and I would like to watch them for awhile before the sun returns to put us all back in our graves.

LESTAT'S NEW DIGS

You won't have to wait til next Halloween to see Vampires Lestat, Louis, Claudia and others who will soon take up residency at the Haunted Mortuary - 24/7 Interactive Paranormal Observatory, Lab & Museum at 4800 Canal Street in New Orleans. No doubt they will feel right at home next to a City of the Dead!

The Haunted Mortuary is excited to welcome the Anne Rice's Vampire Lestat Fan Club as they create an amazing and unique Vampire Exhibit. Old and new vampires will join Lestat in his haunted environment. Renovations at the Haunted Mortuary are underway and the Grand Opening of the 24/7 Interactive Paranormal Observatory, Lab & Museum is anticipated for Winter 2008. More details will be revealed in the near future so watch for announcements.

Hello Gang,

As October draws to a close we put another fabulous Vampire Ball to rest until next year. The Witching Hour Ball was a Huge Success and and we offer everyone our heartfelt thanks for coming down to New Orleans to celebrate with us. A fang-tastic time was enjoyed by all and the music was awesome as always!

It is on this night of all Hallows Eve that we thank you and begin our break from all the excitement so that we can begin to lay plans for your party for next year. If you are venturing out tonight have a great time and we'll see you next year!

And thanks go out to all the volunteers who make it all happen!

Hey Gang,

Suzie has asked us to pass along to those of you that may have not received your tickets yet, through an error of the postal service or what-not, to please not worry. Just bring your printed PAYPAL receipt to the WILL CALL table on Friday night and we will take care of you! You will not miss the Ball. We want you to have a wonderful experience!

Also, we still have a number of tickets available and will be selling them at the door on Friday night. Tickets will be $30.oo cash ($20.oo for members) and they get you into a grand party with three bands and countless delights! So, come on out and join us for a Hell of a Party!

The Wine Tasting is pretty much Sold Out!

As for the weather of the past 24 hours, it has not affected the party at all. Everything is still going on as scheduled and in fact the rain is moving out as we send you this message. In the passing of the stormy weather we will have temperatures in the upper 50's on the night of the Ball, which is just wonderful for heavy costumes. So, come on out and enjoy yourselves!

Our friends at Endless Night, the party going on Saturday at the Musee de Conti, are selling discounted tickets to their event for ARVLFC partygoers who have a ticket stub. Discounts are available to locals and military as well. Tickets will be sold at the Boutique du Vampyre. Not sure what the price will finally be, but I have been told it is a hefty discount! So, come to our Ball and then check out Endless Night on Saturday! You'll see The Fang Gang there!

The Events Page has been updated to offer tickets to the general public for the ARVLFC Witching Hour Ball on October 26th.

Remember, you have until October 15th to buy your tickets IF you want them mailed to you via Certified Mail. After that date you will have to pick them up at WILL CALL with your ID. Paid Members can purchase discounted tickets at ANY time. Use the Paid Member feature on the Events page. IF you want them mailed to you, YOU MUST PAY THE $5 CHARGE! Hi everyone,

I just want to take a moment to let you know that ticket sales for fan club members will be starting soon. After member needs are satisfied then the general public will be able to begin purchasing their tickets.

Remember, fan club members may purchase up to four tickets at the member discount rate of $20.00 each and any more than that will be at the public price of $30.00 each. The tickets for this year are rich and beautiful pieces of art designed by Alex and Chad Savage of Sinister Visions of Chicago, Illinois. These tickets will get you into the most fabulous Halloween Event in New Orleans and the south! As a reminder to you all, costumes or elegant eveningwear are "strongly encouraged" in keeping with the theme of the Ball, which is the Anne Rice novel 'The Witching Hour' that chronicles the lives of the mysterious Mayfair Witches. But, there are no limitations on what type of costume in which you wish to revel or character that you wish to portray. This will be a night to live out your dreams and fantasies of the world of Anne Rice.

Performing for you this year are Paul Mercer and The Ghosts Project, Analog Missionary, and Anders Manga!

We will also have Sherrilyn Kenyon as a special guest as well as charity raffles and auctions to benefit Habitat for Humanity-New Orleans!

Oh, and sometime I'll get around to the rest of that secret mission story. It's just hard to describe a horse walking through a bar.

Secret Mission to New Orleans...

Greetings ARVLFC People,

Gee, it feels great to write those words for the first time in a such a long while. There were times over the years that I didn't know if those words would ever be said again so it feels like a major accomplishment to do just that. Thanks be to Suzie Q for bringing us back our fan club and many thanks to Anne Rice for giving her blessing. It feels like old times.

So, I'm sure you're wondering what all this Secret Mission stuff is about, since it can't be very secret when everybody knows. Well, we like to have a little fun and mystery in the experience of planning the Ball each year and we felt that it would be a fun way to include all of you in the process, in just a little way. It's taking me a few days to get my bearings back and that's been the delay in sharing the story with you. On my first evening in NOLA Suzie Q, our stage manager Joe, and I went to Pirate's Alley to discuss this year's party and after a while we realized that we were on a film set. It was hard not to realize it when there were cameras everywhere and a director yelling for the new script. Just before we had to move on I looked up and there was Cole Hauser, the star of the new TV show set in New Orleans called 'K-Ville', standing about a foot away from me.

From P.A. we moved on and had a nice big dinner and discussed my next task, which was to locate the place that we ended up at after last year's Ball and see if we could come back this year. Well, later that night (after watching a cop ride a horse through Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop...hey, it IS New Orleans after all...) I did find the place and it's located at 711 Bourbon Street and is called TRICOU PUB. They have the most fabulous courtyard and said they would love for us to come back for the after-party gathering this year. I need to know how many of you we can count on showing up! I'll be posting a few PICTURES
of the place so you can know what it looks like.

Also, on that night I discovered PRAVDA, a hot new bar at 1113 Decatur Street that's just a couple of doors up from The Dervish and you all must check it out. They are Pravda of NOLA on MySpace and they have nice pictures!

Well, it seems I must close for now but fear not, the rest of the Secret Mission will be revealed to you soon.
