The Vampiric Art of Chad Savage
Dark artist Chad Savage, who has been providing artwork to the vampire subculture since the 1980's, has opened his own Etsy.com shop, where he will be selling original vampiric artwork that he's created over the last 20 years. Many of these one of a kind drawings were used on magazines, book covers and as book illustrations over the last two decades.
If you'd like to own a small piece of undead history, head over to
http://ChadSavage.etsy.com. Check back daily, as Savage plans to dig up, scan and post drawings that haven't seen the light of day (appropriately enough) for over 10 years. New artwork will be added every day or so.

Lestat, you are the damnedest creature...
Greetings, denizens of darkness...as an old friend used to say...
For those who remain restless and concerned over our Brat Prince and the rumours of his portrayal on film we offer you this solace: Lestat is an embodiment of attitude, a spectre of that shadowy something so many of us crave to become in all our darkest desires. He is immortal yet a part of him craves all that humanity has to offer. That said, we thought you might enjoy this article to peruse as we await word of his fate.

Read this ENTIRE ENTRY BEFORE YOU ORDER.

The members-only purchasing window is until Sunday, August 30th. On Monday, August 31st, the public purchasing window will open and their order form will be activated.
These are the guidelines, please READ THEM CAREFULLY:
When purchasing tickets you MUST add SHIPPING to your order cart BEFORE you FINALIZE, that means UPDATE CART AND CONTINUE SHOPPING and ADD the $6.oo SHIPPING BUTTON if you want them MAILED to you via CERTIFIED MAIL; someone MUST be at the shipping address to SIGN for the PACKAGE at the time of delivery. Once you do that then shipping will be added to everything in your cart. Then you may proceed to checkout. It DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY GENERATE SHIPPING, YOU MUST CONTINUE SHOPPING and go back and hit the SHIPPING BUTTON. The bottom line is you MUST ADD shipping if you want them shipped. PLEASE CHECK YOUR ORDER THOROUGHLY and VERIFY SHIPPING BEFORE YOU FINALIZE.
If you do not ADD SHIPPING there is no BACK BUTTON and you will be automatically placed on WILL-CALL. You MAY NOT go back and ADD SHIPPING once the sale is COMPLETE; WILL CALL is automatic after that. This is an automated process that cannot be altered. PLEASE READ AND FOLLOW all instructions BEFORE you attempt ordering.
We hope we have made these instructions as short and simple as possible. See you at the Ball!
Warmly,
Your Krewe!

Vampires of the World, Join Us in New Orleans!
Pasadena, Calif. August 6, 2009 - Vampire Fest 2009 will take place in the beautiful city of New Orleans from October 23 - 26, 2009.
Filmmakers have heard our call, and Vampire Fest has already received submissions from the United States and around the world. Vampire Fest has a number of activities planned—feasts for the mind as well as the eyes—including a literary panel hosted by writer Gabrielle Faust and events around the Vieux Carré and the Garden District. The festival will screen an international slate of vampire and gothic features and shorts and include costume parties, fashion shows and performance artists. Vampire Fest is proud to call its home New Orleans with its fabulous nightlife, Gothic architecture, international cuisine, voodoo history, beautiful necropolises, and the birthplace of jazz and Anne Rice.
Submissions Are Still OPEN
Vampire Fest is seeking narrative or experimental films of all lengths that emphasize the grotesque, mysterious or desolate. Since the legends of the werewolf and other supernatural creatures are interconnected with that of the vampire, Vampire Fest also accepts films of the Gothic, zombie, werewolf, witch or ghost genre.
Filmmakers can submit online at www.vampirefilmfestival.com or at www.withoutabox.com until September 16, 2009.
Full schedule of events, details will be announced on our site in the coming weeks and ticket sales will begin by month’s end. Please visit our site at www.vampirefilmfestival.com or contact festival headquarters at (504) 298-VAMP.

Important Message from Gabrielle Faust
Hello everyone!
You might possibly have seen one of my blog posts this past weekend about the 2009 Scare for a Cure charity haunted house being developed here in Austin, Tx? This year's theme is vampires and thus we are working to raise $25,000 for the Breast Cancer Resource Center of Central Texas this year. Here a couple of links for more information:
http://www.scareforacure.org
http://www.gabriellefaust.com/archives/2750
We are in need of everything from people to volunteer their time to act in the haunted house to corporate sponsors. There's information on the Scare for a Cure site on how people can donate or become a sponsor as well. It is truly going to be an amazing event!
Thank you!
Best Wishes,
Gabrielle

Hey Gang,
Well, wasn't tonight's episode of 'True Blood' awesome! Godric makes an appearance. (no more spoilers for those of you in other time zones) We can't wait for next week!
On the subject of True Blood, we have an announcement for you: ticket prices for the Tru Blood and Gold Ball! The tickets, once back from the printer, will again be $20.oo each for ARVLFC MEMBERS, and then $35.oo each for Non-Members (aka, the general public). ARVLFC members with dues up to date will have first dibs on tickets as always. We will post more information in the coming weeks so check back often.
Suzie Q wants to share with you all that she received a message from our special guest author, Charlaine Harris, telling her how excited she is to be coming to the party and she is even having a special costume made for the occasion! We are very excited to have Charlaine come down and join us for all the fun! Suzie is currently collecting questions from people that they would like to ask Ms. Harris on the night of the Ball. If you submit a question you may be asked to read it to her at the party. Submit all questions via email to suequiroz@gmail.com and she will include them in a list for consideration. Thank you all in advance for your submissions.
Well, there is more work to be done and the night is young!
Warmly,
Your Krewe
