Hey Guys,

By now you have no doubt heard that the weather disturbance in the gulf has formed into Hurricane Gustav. Hurricanes are a normal part of life on the gulf coast of the United States and we take them in stride. Please bear in mind at this difficult time that Hurricane Katrina was an exception and not the rule as far as the history of this region and storms go, but we are nonetheless taking precautions and being safe. Suzie Q would like you to think of this as going with the contra-flow. She is going to stay with her sister Melanie for a few days and the fan club's New Orleans operations are being shifted to Baton Rouge. We formed a plan over a year ago for just such an event as this so that fan club archives and artifacts would never be lost again, although we don't think it will come to that. This started with our quest for photos and such when the official website went online. All member rolls, records, photos, archives and surviving memorbilia are backed up and safe.

Most fan club business for the next week has been shifted to the Houston and Chicago area offices, things will go on as normal. Our websites will stay up, forums will continue, photo archives will remain online, we will be here. Suzie Q, Lord ~J, and Lady ~A will continue to be available online to keep things coordinated and running smoothly.

Unlike three years ago, we have a plan of action, and we have backups in all corners of this great land of ours. We also have a plan for a constant line of communication with you. We will be keeping you abreast of all developments over the next few days as they happen. The important thing we want to convey to you is please don't worry. This is just a normal thing for New Orleans, it's why you order a "hurricane" at Pat O'Brien's when you visit the Crescent City.

We plan to greet you all at the doors at Rosy's this Halloween to hoist one and celebrate this world that we love!

Lord ~J here with a personal message to you from Suzie Q.

She says to thank you for all the messages and emails! Suzie also wants to thank you for all the ticket purchases over the last couple of days! There have been a lot and she's still counting them! Thanks for keeping the faith! We are gonna have a huge party come Halloween Night!

There will be a short delay in mailing tickets out because of the holiday weekend and the weather disturbance in the gulf. As a precaution, because you don't mess around with mother nature, Sue is going to go stay with her sister in Baton Rouge this weekend. She is taking all fan club materials, tickets and information, and all that kind of stuff with her so that she can continue preparing tickets for shipping next week. The donations for this year's Ball will be with her as well for safekeeping. She will have computer access if you need to reach her.

Thanks for all the notes of concern, all she asks is that you send some positive energy to New Orleans and the gulf coast at large and hopefully this weather system won't do much damage. Prayer is a powerful thing.

As of 12 o'clock last night the public may now purchase tickets to The Queen of the Damned Ball! You can find where to buy them here on this website in the EVENTS section. Don't wait, they're going fast!!!

You only have until September 19th to book a room at the St.Christopher Hotel where we have a group rate at $119USD per night from check in Thursday to checkout Sunday and I hear that they are even extending that rate should you want to some in earlier or stay later! Rooms are running out!

Bear in mind that lot of hotels are upwards of $189 per night for the Halloween season. This is a great rate, so lock it in.

If you are worried that it is just some lame Best Western, we assure you that it is far more upscale than the road side BW's you are used to!

REMEMBER to ask for a king if you are traveling with just 2 and to keep the doubles open for those traveling with a group as there is no additional room fee for more than 2 to a room!

The Events page has been updated and tickets for the Wine Tasting Event and The Queen of the Damned Ball are now available for purchase through PayPal!

Anyone can purchase Wine Tasting tickets now, but the Queen of the Damned Ball tickets will NOT be available to non-members until August 28th! Members can purchase QOTD Ball tickets now through the newly enabled PayPal system on our Events page.

For those of you going to Endless Night XI on Saturday the day after the ARVLFC Ball...please note that their venue has changed to the House Of Blues in New Orleans! Details can be found on their website at www.endlessnight.com.

Most of us plan on going so you should really check it out! Gives you another excuse to wear a different costume and the atmosphere at EN is really cool!

Attention everyone, Suzie Q has made plans for another drawing! This time, all fan club members who renew during the month of August will be eligible for a drawing for an unsigned Stan Rice print. The drawing will be held on September 1st! The print title is forthcoming!

Don't forget, members have until August 28th to buy tickets to The Queen of the Damned Ball, happening on Halloween Night, before the remaining tickets are made available to the public! Don't miss out on getting your tickets. If you are up-to-date on your membership you may go ahead and write to suequiroz@gmail.com to request your invoice for tickets now. Just specify the number you need and your membership number.



We have a couple of items to share with you that have been donated thus far:



A George Rodrigue print of 'The Blue Dog'. 'The Blue Dog' print is called We Are Marching Again - Blue Dog's wearing a Saints t-shirt with a big Fleur de Lis on it. This will likely be a silent auction item, but possibly a raffle item; TBD.



Armand, our dear friend, is donating her drawing 'Lestat with Mojo' and it will go up for the silent auction



Lord ~J has donated a vintage medium sized promotional denim jacket from 'The Lost Boys' theatrical release in 1987. It's acid washed for that 80's goodness. Item will likely be in the raffles.



You will begin finding pictures of these items in our photos section as the pics are received.

Lady ~A has also donated a rare, mint condition, black wool Interview with the Vampire FILM CREW JACKET from 1994 to the auctions! This is a large size jacket with full color embroidery on the back, complete with cherubs and the film logo! This is a hard to find item that will make a wonderful addition to our auctions to raise money for Habitat for Humanity of New Orleans!

She has also personally obtained an autographed copy of Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer signed at the Breaking Dawn Party to contribute to the auctions as well!
